Mike Ferguson
Founder & Principal Advisor
With over two decades in employee benefits and financial services, our founder built Razor Benefits Group to be the firm he always wished existed — independent, transparent, and genuinely accountable to the businesses we serve.
Mike’s career has touched on every aspect of healthcare, from patient care to reimbursement. In all that time, the theme was clear…it’s too expensive and too confusing. Finally, he walked away to build something different: a multi-carrier advisory firm where loyalty to the individual and the small business owner is paramount.
Outside of work, he’s passionate about helping families plan for retirement, mentoring young professionals, and reminding business owners that their team is their most valuable asset.

Our story
Razor Benefits Group was founded by benefits veterans who watched too many small businesses get locked into one carrier's product list — because that was the only carrier their broker quoted. We built Razor Benefits Group to be the opposite.
As an independent advisory firm, we're not tied to any single insurance company or coverage. That means we can shop the entire market and strategy every on every quote and every renewal — and recommend what actually fits your team, not what fits our payout structure.
Today we serve employers across the country, from 2-person startups to established firms with hundreds of employees — and every one of them gets a named advisor they can call directly.
